In terms of visual appeal, the site isn’t doing any better here. The site just isn’t updated anymore, and that’s okay. The pricing for various cards and decks also doesn’t typically line up with where it should be on the screen, and it’s always been like this. The website has every feature available for free, but it’s hard to look past that once you’re distracted by the visual clutter and clearly older style. It’s been around for forever and somehow still manages to cling onto relevancy despite an ever-decreasing visual appeal. TappedOut is an all-time classic of Magic deckbuilding. That’s a serious blow to its ranking if they do. We want sites that don’t charge us for core features. Payment Model: Last is the payment model.Websites that are outdated and obviously haven’t been updated are just less attractive to the eye and put a grosser taste in my mouth. Visual Appeal: The difference between this and visual clarity is that visual appeal is more opinion-based and less objective. If a website is messy and all over the place, it’s less clear how you make a new deck, view others, or do anything else. UI Visual Clarity: Visual clarity goes hand-in-hand with intuitiveness. Some sites are much easier to understand right away while others ( *cough* TappedOut *cough*) are a little messier in nature. Intuitiveness: The site or deck builder has to be easy to use and understand without looking to another resource for a tutorial. With the sites and resources I’m looking at today, here’s what I’m looking for: There’s more than just a flash UI or popularity among my Commander friends. Criteria for Choosing the Bestįaerie Guidemother | Illustration by Mila Pesicįiltering through and judging deck builders and resources turned out to be a much trickier task than I originally thought. A website that compiles it in a sensical way and displays the card itself and its mana cost plus price tag is almost needed to successfully build in Commander. Combos here, unique interactions and synergies there, and keeping your decklists on a notepad file that just shows text can be hard to wrap your head around. My point is that there’s a lot more variety in cards and things to keep track of. Where typical 60-card Constructed decks have one to three cards for turns 1 through 3, EDH has 10 to 12. It can be really hard to keep track of, especially when you’re used to keeping track of seven to nine playsets of cards in your typical Standard deck. You have access to just about every single card in Magic and on top of that your deck has 100 different cards. Why Use a Deck Builder for EDH Anyway?Ĭommander is a very complex format. If you’re just here to read what the best is, there you go! Otherwise keep on scrolling and I’ll get into just what I’m judging these resources by, and which ones are best. It’s more like a Wikipedia for EDH rather than a site that builds the deck with you. I do want to point out that EDHREC doesn’t actually build the deck for you, it just shows you hundreds of thousands of other decks and what cards are most included in specific types of decks. Opening up EDHREC is always the first move I make when I’m starting to put together a new list, and I wouldn’t be nearly as successful in my deckbuilding quests without it. It uses data-driven examples to help you find useful and commonly included cards for any commander, color combination, and theme. I’m not here to waste your time so I’ll tell you right now that if you could only use on resource, I’d recommend EDHREC. Collectigull (Only the Best) | Illustration by Wylie Beckert

Mushrooms: Baby Bella mushrooms are used.Seasonings: Kosher salt, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika. It really doesn't take that much to bring it all together. Let's dive into the exact ingredients that make this Dutch oven pork chop recipe comforting and just delicious. When it comes to this one pot meal, you can pair it with almost any side. yes and yes.īut, when the cooler months start to creep up I imagine cozying up with a plate of creamy herb garlic mashed potatoes and these Dutch oven pork chop with gravy and mushrooms. There's something about this recipe that screams 'Fall'. These fall-style pork chops are perfect for any time of the year and makes for an easy comforting dinner for any weeknight. This recipe will have your kitchen smelling amazing in no time. And yes, the longer it cooks the better it is.In just a few easy steps, these Dutch oven pork chops nestled in a flavorful gravy topped with savory mushrooms will be your new weeknight dish that'll get you excited about cooking. The finished temperature should be 145 deg. I don’t know about you, but I just hate it when my roux breaks. To take the worry out of the possibility of breaking the roux, heat the stock to about 120 deg. I usually use either a vegetable stock, to keep it neutral, or pork stock to richen the flavor. How disgusting, bacon grease: Said no one ever. Then, instead of oil, I use bacon drippin’s. The only difference is that I dredge them first in seasoned flour: And sometimes a little ‘Slap Ya’ Mama, (Mary at Deep South Dish got me hooked on that stuff). If I want a ‘chem-coction’ I’ll go to the ‘Fallen Arches’ or the ‘Bugger King.’ This is the way my grandmother taught me how to make them, way back in the 50’s. I’m with you on the gravy au natural: No Cream of Sodium soup. I got some nice pork chops, sausage and of course, their country ham best on the planet. You also get more sense of the Mafia's far-reaching influence, and events that have repercussions for the rest of the Mafia: Trilogy timeline. We really wanted to establish that the Salieri crime family is an underdog in the war against the Morello crime family this is something we reinforce multiple times now, and it helps drive some of Salieri's decisions." "There's very few scenes with mob boss Salieri where he doesn't reference the war with Morello and, perhaps more importantly, hints at their former friendship and long rivalry. "We remind the player that there is a larger war brewing, and that they are joining the Mafia-which has its own history and traditions," says Blackman. The updated performances also give more gravitas to the bosses of Lost Heaven's underworld. This allows us to introduce her earlier and establish that she has some understanding of the work Tommy does." We knew from the original that Sarah is the daughter of Salieri's bartender, Luigi, so we thought it made sense to have her helping out around the bar. "We wanted her to appear more often so you have a better sense of who Tommy is trying to protect from the outset. "In the original, Sarah is Tommy's love interest, but she doesn't get very much screen time," notes Blackman. Sarah, who is arguably the most important and impactful person in Tommy's life, also has a greatly expanded role in Mafia: Definitive Edition. He's got plans, wants to be the brain behind a score." "We kept all of that, but also gave him a bit more depth and foreshadow some events that come later in the game. He's funny but a bit hot-headed," adds Blackman. "Paulie is a good example: in the original, he's something of a loose cannon. "Ultimately, we wanted to retain the spirit of the story and the characters, while developing them further where possible," says Hangar 13 President and CCO Haden Blackman. Affording you more insight into the supporting cast is a crucial component to that additional context, fleshing out the people in Tommy's life to make his story feel that much more real. Mafia: Definitive Edition isn't a word-for-word retelling of the original 2002 game Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven, as it builds on Tommy Angelo's iconic story across gameplay and cinematics alike. All supported languages will include localized subtitles. Though it's far from an exhaustive list, these are some of the key characters Tommy meets during his journey through the world of organized crime. Here's a look at the English-language actors who provided the voices, likenesses, and mocap performances of the supporting cast in Mafia: Definitive Edition. While discussing the techniques, training, and technology that brought the new Tommy Angelo to life, Hangar 13's developers also had lots to share about the ensemble cast surrounding Tommy throughout Mafia: Definitive Edition's revitalized story. Recasting Tommy Angelo for Mafia: Definitive Edition was just one piece of the puzzle, because without a Mafia family to join, enemies to war with, or citizens filling the streets of Lost Heaven circa 1930, there would be no crime drama. The header artwork above depicting the Salieri Crime Family is a Mafia: Definitive Edition throwback to promotional art for the original Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven. So maybe at start just avoid the High fortitude mobs ( trolls, ogres)ĥ) grab asap mechanic gloves from roedric hold ( day 7 in potd for me ) and hermit cap ( quest' at the bridge). You don't have good means to debuff that defence sadly. So also if they surround you they get hit and blinded, but you not.Ģ) take asap arcane veil, +50 def at the beginning is huge, if you add wizard double you can reach invulnerabilità for a short timeģ) use as much as possible chill fog and concellauth draining ( lvl 2 spell, the lvl 3 touch sucks), this will take vantage of your relatively High endurance and keep you Alice while chill fog kills everyone.Ĥ)most of your best spells at beginning hits fortitude. Remember that the First lvls are the more difficult, after that you will really have a lot of spells to use for chain casting and your power start exploding exponentially.ġ) aim good chill fog, you have to be always in the yellow area, in wich enemies are hit but you not. After it hits, targets get usually blinded, so they get -20 def, -20 ref, so it't easy to stab them a bit with a melee weapon or hit a fan of flame. That spell rolls more hits during time so it will hit sooner or later ( on other hand fan of flame is only hit or miss). Sure more percepion could help, simply this build has other priorities and i can't squeeze inside more per than the basal level.Īnyway remember that spell order matter a lot in a fight! For example, i always start with chill fog. Unless you are abusing ranged combat and kiting mechanichs obviously, that is a playstile wich let you rest very rarely, since by definition you don't have to tank ( but you will lose a lot of "real" time in every Battle, and i find it quite boring).įalcon torch with his +2 per doesn't matter much. In particolar was also related to the boeroer's bilestomper ™ build, wich use only poison/ corrode spells, that are in lower number vs Ice spells, so with my build i think you can do more consecutive fights.īut is also true that on potd in the beginning, you have to rest every 3-4 fight anyway with the majority of char, since you usually lose a lot of health every fight. My statement was generally about higher lvl, obviously until lvl 9-11 you have to rest a lot anyway, since you don't have enough spell/possibility to realible win fight without using spells. I have never played wizard before because I hated Aloth on my first playthrough and played solo after that, so I am asking this based on my priest experience. You say "you run out of good spells after 1-2 battles and i hate to rest a lot", but isn't that the case during the first levels where you have to rest after 3-4 fights? Also with Combusting Wounds + Wall of Flames (which is superpowerful). A wizard could live up to the theme right from the start. So that build would take some time before taking off. But sadly you get the good fireball items a bit late. He could use things like Binding Web scrolls to set up Deathblows for the Fireballs and wear a stag helmet to be immune to stuck. Or maybe I try to do that with a Shield Rogue and Direballs + Adept Evasion. You can stack 17 Fireball uses per rest and 1 per encounter with a wizard. I'm also planning a Fireball build which does it this way: dropping Fireballs onto your own head while tanking. Attract the enemies, cast nasty stuff on yourself and let your friends shoot/cast from afar. And the stacking of Chillfog is no nice - also because of all the interrupts and the combination with Combusting Wounds. A bit like The Dragon Thrashed + Ancient Memory - only with ice. But in party play this is one of the coolest tank approaches. I understand that in solo play getting surrounded is not good. Health is no problem with Infuse with Vital Essence. That is - let's face it - supercool! Maybe you shouldn't avoid getting hit by your own Chillfog after all. And with that mantle, healing gear and survival bonus plus Chillfog you can actually have a second, quite powerful healing effect while blinding and damaging the enemies besides Veteran's Recovery. So this one up here is clearly not that simplified. So the way I like to tackle it is just to simplify all of them as much as possible. And I want you to pause this video and see if you can figure out which of these expressions, and it's possible that neither of them are, which of these are equivalent to the one in yellow. So I have an expression written here in yellow and then I have two more written in this light green color. Let's get some practice identifying equivalent expressions. We rarely need to show all the details, but knowing and understanding the 'how' and 'why' of 'what' is happening can help us take the next step up in comprehension! It works when there are exponents >1 as well, but take note of addition or subtraction operations zones, they act like barriers for the multiplication, only cross them after you complete the multiplication and only if you can combine like terms! So that's why when multiplying unlike terms, we can just multiply the coefficients, and tack the variables on at the end! Which is what we're doing (when we multiply unlike terms), just rearranging a multiplication expression, by completing the calculation for the values we do know ( the coefficients), and keeping the unknown values ( variables) set up properly to multiply! ★ Another reason we can is the useful Property of Multiplication, (a truth about it), it's Commutative (interchangeable), which means we can rearrange multiplication terms, and still get the same answer! ★ That's one of the reasons we can multiply Unlike Terms is because the relationship between the coefficient and the variable is Multiplication! The coefficient is the number that is smooshed in front of a variable, the coefficient is the count of that variable's repeats combined, so it represents the number of times the variable occurs.) We can multiply the coefficients, then place the variables together, behind and against our new coefficient. We'll explain that in the next section.(answer to your question from Comments on my original reply) Wonderful!īefore making any computation, there is one crucial thing we have to take into account – the representation of numbers in binary code, especially the sign. The final result of the subtraction of these binary numbers is 110 0101 - 1000 1100 = -10 0111. Remember to add a minus sign so the outcome becomes -10 0111. Let's use the complement method:īy reversing the order, we have 1000 1100 - 110 0101.įill the second value with one leading zero, 1000 1100 - 0110 0101.įind the complement of the second number – switch digits ( 0→1, 1→0) and 0101 → 1001 1011.Īdd the first number and the complement of the second one together, 1000 1100 + 1001 1011 = 1 0010 0111. In other words, we estimate the absolute value and eventually attach a minus sign. We can use the identity a - b = -(b - a), so we're going to reverse the order of subtraction and add a minus sign at the end. There is a clever way to work around this task. It's quite tricky because the second number has more digits than the first one, so we are about to subtract a larger number from a smaller one. Let's see how to subtract two binary numbers, e.g., 110 0101 - 1000 1100. And what if we wanted to subtract a larger number from a smaller one? Here is where the binary subtraction calculator comes in handy! Let's jump to the next section to learn about the different methods of solving these problems. As long as the number of digits is relatively small, we can do it by hand. Here ₂ denotes a binary number, and ₁₀ is a decimal number. So, how to subtract binary numbers, e.g., 1101 - 110? We can always convert these values to decimals, classically subtract them, and then transform them once again into the binary form: Use binary converter whenever you need to switch between decimal and binary notation. As an example, 13 in decimal notation is equivalent to 1101 in binary notation, because 13 = 8 + 4 + 1, or 13 = 1×2³ + 1×2² + 0×2¹ + 1×2⁰ using scientific notation. Every digit refers to the consecutive powers of 2 and whether it should be multiplied by 0 or 1. Just to clarify, binary numbers are values containing only two types of digits, 0 or 1. The subtraction of binary numbers is essentially the same as for the decimal, hexadecimal, or any other system of numbers. This is because an s electron has jumped into the d orbital, giving the atom two half-full shells-much more stable than a d orbital with only four electrons. This way, the d shell is full, and is therefore stable, and the s shell is half full, and is also stable.Īnother example: Chromium has a configuration of 4s 13d 5, although you would expect to see four d electrons instead of five. Given two configurations, the atom would "choose" the more stable one.Įxample: In the following configuration, Cu: 4s 23d 9, copper's d shell is just one away from stability, and therefore, one electron from the s shell jumps into the d shell: 4s 13d 10. why and how they change the configuration of their outer valence electrons.Ī subshell is particularly stable if it is half full or full. However, knowing atomic configurations is useful because it does help us to understand how and why they bond, i.e. In that sense the electron configurations for the other elements are somewhat hypothetical: to encounter an isolated atom of, say, tungsten (W), we would have to first vaporize a metal that boils at 5800K. Atoms of other elements all undergo bonding under the conditions that we live under and this affects the orbitals that the outermost electrons are in. Noble gas atoms are also the only ones regularly found as isolated atoms in the ground state. Noble gases have very stable configurations, and are extremely reluctant to lose or gain electrons. The ground state configuration for Ca could be abbreviated by using the preceding noble gas (the elements found all the way on the right of the periodic table) as 4s 2, where Ar is argon. They are not stable and generally only exist for a brief moment. Other configurations likeġs 22s 22p 63s 23p 64s 14p 1 are possible, but these excited states have a higher energy. An isolated Calcium atom 20Ca, for example, would have configuration of 1s 22s 22p 63s 23p 64s 2 in its ground state. Wikipedia has related information at Electron configurationĮlectron-configuration notation is relatively straightforward. How to Write the Electron Configuration of an Isolated Atom Understanding the above rules and diagrams will allow you to determine the electron configuration of almost any atom or ion. Go in order of the lines from top to bottom, top right end to bottom left of each line. Orbital Orderġs, 2s, 2p, 3s, 3p, 4s, 3d, 4p, 5s, 4d, 5p, 6s, 4f, 5d, 6p, 7s, 5f, 6d, 7p, 8s.Īlthough this looks confusing, there is an easy way to remember. This animation demonstrates the Aufbau principle, Hund's Rule, and the Pauli Exclusion principle. What this translates to in terms of our picture of orbitals is that each orbital can only hold two electrons, one "spin up" (+½) and one "spin down" (-½). No two electrons can have all four quantum numbers the same. Only after all the seats have been filled will people start doubling up. As people load onto a bus, each person takes his or her own seat, sitting alone. This rule is sometimes called the "bus seating rule". Also, these first electrons have the same spin. Hence you can opt for filling these three orbitals from right to left also.Īufbau principle state that “atomic orbitals are filled with electrons in order of increasing energy level”.Īccording to Hund's rule, orbitals of the same energy are each filled with one electron before filling any with a second. It is a convention that we chose to fill Px first, then Py and then Pz for our simplicity. So, how are they filled up?Īnswer: all the three p orbitals have same energy so while filling the p orbitals we can fill any one of the Px, Py or Pz first. For example, the three p orbitals of a given shell all occur at the same energy level. In that case, more specific rules must be applied. Within a shell, there may be several orbitals with the same principal quantum number. Larger atoms with more subshells will seem to fill "out of order", as the other factors influencing orbital energy become important. ) have the lowest energy and will fill up first, in smaller atoms. Orbitals with the lowest principal quantum number ( Failed to parse (MathML with SVG or PNG fallback (recommended for modern browsers and accessibility tools): Invalid response ("Math extension cannot connect to Restbase.") from server "":): Much as one fills up a container with liquid from the bottom up, the orbitals of an atom are filled from the lowest energy orbitals to the highest energy orbitals. You may consider an atom as being "built up" from a naked nucleus by gradually adding to it one electron after another, until all the electrons it will hold have been added. When an atom or ion receives electrons into its orbitals, the orbitals and shells fill up in a particular manner. There are people marching for black lives and against police brutality. Leaf blowers and grabber sets are common helpful tools for this purpose. With simple-to-use lightweight grabbing tools, you should enjoy the task of keeping your yard and gardens very clean. Different seasons of the year determine the rate at which leaves fall from flowerbeds and trees in gardens. |
